Located at 168 Arthur Street, Truro, Nova Scotia. The Colchester Community Workshops provides service to adults with intellectual disabilities.
As one of 28 member agencies of DIRECTIONS, we offer a wide variety of programs to our clients to help enhance their lives through “vocational skills development and personal growth”.
As a community-based organization, we currently provide service for 80 adults with intellectual disabilities. The workshop offers a wide variety of individualized programming and training opportunities for the clients that we work with as well as providing a quality service to our customers.
The workshop was initially established as The Butler Centre in the late 1960’s. In the mid-1980’s, The Butler Centre joined with JOBS Unlimited to form Colchester Community Workshops and moved to a facility on Prince Street.
In 1999, the Colchester Community Workshops Foundation was formed to spearhead a capitol campaign for a new building. In 2005, the workshop opened its new doors in Rotary House located at 168 Arthur Street.
Over the years, our programs continue to expand and develop to accommodate the ever changing needs of our client population. Please visit the section on Our Programs to learn more.
